Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an engineer systems 4to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

Performs technical planning, requirements development and analysis, and cost and risk for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies and will develop, decompose and implement complex systems engineering requirements and flow them through multiple engineering levels from Concept of Operation to individual subsystems and Hardware and Software Configuration Items (HWCI/CSCI).

Essential Functions:
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Performs analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Interpret requirements, edit and maintain corresponding objects and attributes in the product DOORS database, prepares and staffs assigned Change Requests through appropriate Technical Review and Change Review Boards.
- As assigned program Lead, responsible for assembly of technical data and organization/conduct of System Engineering Technical Reviews SETR), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), and other Major Program Events (MPE).

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and9 years of system engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and7 years of system engineering experience
In Scope DoD Secret Clearance or higher and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Ability to obtain Special Program Access
Experience in technical engineering requirements analysis, development, verification and/or validation using DOORS or similar requirements management tool sets.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience writing custom scripts for DOORS or similar requirements management tool sets.
Experience leading and coordinating small to medium sized technical teams.
Experience with direct interface and collaboration with customer representatives.
*Ideal candidate would also have background in leading System Engineering, Integration and Test activities for a program.
