Northrop Grumman in Azusa, CA,needs a qualified Systems Engineer to perform key assignmentsdesigning and implementing several new payloads over the next several years. The position requires solid payload systems technical knowledge. Technical understanding in payload operations and Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) mission are strongly recommended. Knowledge and emphasis in the following areas is recommended:

  • Architecture Design & Synthesis: Both Hardware & Software Architecture
  • Interface Control & Definition: Spacecraft-to-Payload Interface Control; Space-to-- Ground Interface Control; Payload Internal Interface Control
  • Requirements Analysis, Allocation & Management: Verification & Validation;
  • System Thread Development
  • Concept of Operations Development
  • Fault Management / Anomaly, Detection, and Resolution (ADR) Development
  • System Resiliency: Cybersecurity; Threat Assessment and Design compliance
This is an exciting opportunity to join development work for future OPIR payloads. In this role you will be involved in efforts from concept to deployment forinnovative technology.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
  • 5 or more years of engineering experience in the Aerospace Industryincluding at least 3 years of experience in design of EO/IR payload systems
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance must be held and maintained. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a STEM field
  • 5 years of experience in the design of EO/IR payload systems
  • Knowledge of and experience with the SBIRS Program
  • Familiarity with commonly used tools in both MS Windows & Unix environments
  • Active DoDTS clearance or SCI program access is highly desired.
