Engineer Systems 3

AOA Xinetics (AOX), a Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) strategic business unit, is currently seeking a Systems/Project Engineer 3 to join its Team in East Hartford, CT location.

The Systems/Project Engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses to aid in the execution of programs. Analyses are performed at all phases of product life cycle, including: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.

S/He will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into system wide solutions that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints. The Engineer will perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The successful candidate will have project engineering experience and a thorough understanding of the System Engineering principles mentioned above. S/He will work under general direction of Program Management while contributing to the successful completion of specific projects. Responsibilities will include supporting formal program gates, such as PDR, CDR and TRR, as well as preparing test plans and procedures for Life Tests, Qualification and Acceptance testing. S/He will also be responsible for compiling data and reporting test results.

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Engineering or related field with minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

Ability to clearly and effectively present technical approaches and findings to various levels of audiences.

Active Government Top Secret Clearance or SSBI

Preferred Qualifications:

BS in optical, mechanical, phonics, or controls theory engineering

Direct experience interacting with Government/Contractor Systems Engineering
