Northrop Grumman in Azusa is looking for qualified mission systems engineers to perform key assignments on our SBIRS (Space-Based Infrared Systems) program. Candidate will perform system engineering assignments related to the mission performance analysis and testing of SBIRS Mission Processing capabilities. Key responsibilities include mission performance tuning, performance regression test, root cause analysis, defect identification and resolution, mission software build checkout, and support on key System Test events. Modeling environments include Matlab and PC- or AIX-hosted development tools. Results of analysis will be communicated externally through generation of reports and presentation materials. The candidate may be required to occasionally travel in support of test execution at operational sites, customer outbrief, and technical interchange meetings. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.
.Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's ina STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
  • 5years in systems analysis or software development
  • Knowledge and understanding of Algorithm Development, PerformanceTuning and Analysis
  • Strong analytical and programming skills in MATLAB (or similar environment)
  • Active DoDSecret security clearance must be held and maintained. U.S. Citizenship is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Mission Algorithm development processes
  • SBIRS program or similar space programrelated knowledge
  • Knowledge of C++ and/or Perl
  • Experience in mission data processing, mission performance analysis, system verification, algorithm tuning and analysis
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
