Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly motivatedSystem Engineer Level 2 to work on Global Hawk, the US Air Force premier airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance platform.

The selected candidate is skilled in many areas and has experience in a lab environment supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems. We looking for a motivated Systems Engineer who's eager to learn.

Essential Functions:

  • Familiarity with electronic systems and circuits, or mechanical systems, as well as real-time executable software is required.
  • I dentify and adjudicate identified hazards, and should have experience with military aircraft, as well as a working knowledge of aircraft concepts and operations.
  • Technical responsibilities include generation of customer deliverable items.
  • Help p rovide Risk Assessments, as required, along with recommended mitigations to reduce risk to an acceptable level
  • Working Groups with the Customer, presenting technical material at major Program reviews.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of engineering experience
  • Active interim or DoD Secret clearance to start
  • The ability to obtain program access
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of Systems Engineering experience
  • Tactical Data Links, RF characterization, various RF waveform modulation techniques
  • Functional vs physical requirements
  • Work EMI/EMC requirements and testing
  • Understand and help define overall aircraft systems, KPP/TPMs, etc.
  • Security certification
  • Work with the test engineering function
  • Support Airworthiness activities
  • Final DoD Secret clearance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
