Engineer Systems 1 - Vulnerability
The successful candidate will be a Specialty Systems Engineer performing the analysis of combat threat effects upon military aircraft. The analysis will include kinetic weapons such as projectiles, missiles and warhead fragments as well as unconventional threats. This position is responsible for predicting probabilistic hostile weapon effects using sophisticated computer tools, determining how predicted effects impact system capabilities, and providing design solutions to improve survivability.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Bachelors degree in STEM field
- Knowledge of and understanding of hostile weapon systems
- Knowledge of and experience with aircraft survivability and vulnerability concepts and methods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
- Current in scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Experience in live fire test planning and execution planning
- Proficiency with a command line environment and creating script files
