Engineer Supplier MA 3/4

Northrop Grumman is looking for an Engineer Supplier MA 3/4. This position collaborates with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement functional management and supplier management teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Defines the Supplier MA program within the scope of contract requirements and enterprise policies and processes.
  • Prepares, maintains and reviews procurement quality assurance procedures to assure compliance with customer and/or government requirements.
  • Coordinates and oversees Supplier Mission Assurance implementation over all program phases.
  • Assists with the implementation of Supplier Mission Assurance processes, including, supplier quality requirements development, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), supplier pre-award capability assessments, source selection evaluations, supplier quality audits and supplier performance assessments.
  • Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
  • Provides supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process (Material Review Board).
  • Evaluates supplier-non-conformances, negative performance trends and failures and determines root cause and implements corrective and preventive actions. Helps conduct programs designed to improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation.
  • Oversee the SCAR process to generate and work with suppliers to drive effective root cause & corrective actions.
  • Assists with the source inspection processes and coordinates with customer as required.
  • Utilizes supplier performance data bases and supplier quality management system assessment tools to provide objective evidence of suppliers' capability to perform.
  • Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status and risks.
  • Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) in support of proposal activity and on an as-needed basis when new procurements are required on existing programs.
  • Supports program Mission Assurance in development and maintenance of SAP Vendor and Part Master databases.
  • Assures that customer quality-imposed technical requirements are adhered to by supplier and that a quality system is maintained. May administer a certified supplier program or related programs in receiving inspection.
  • May also audit third party manufacturers, due diligence and vendor selection process.
  • May perform deviation investigations into quality issues.

This requisition may be filledat a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

ESCSOThis requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic qualifications for a level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience in Quality Management or master's degree with 4 years of experience in Quality Management.
  • Experience in application of Quality Management principles; e.g., ISO 9001, AS5553.
  • Knowledge / experience with SAP procurement and quality modules.
  • Knowledge of supplier setup, vetting, approval and ongoing supplier surveillance processes.
  • Ability document and manage Supplier Corrective Actions to closure.

Basic qualifications for a level 4:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in Quality Management or master's degree with 8 years of experience in Quality Management.
  • Experience in application of Quality Management principles; e.g., ISO 9001, AS5553.
  • Knowledge / experience with SAP procurement and quality modules.
  • Knowledge of supplier setup, vetting, approval and ongoing supplier surveillance processes.
  • Ability document and manage Supplier Corrective Actions to closure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business, supply chain or technology related fields.
  • Project Management experience including participating on and/or leading six sigma projects.
  • Knowledgeable of Supply Chain / procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to assess Supplier Statement of Works, RFP's and Contracts and ensure requirements traceability.
