Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Structural 3to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

Essential Functions:

This is afull-time position for a Structural Analysis Engineer to support F/A-18A-G Service Life Assessment and Extension Programs. Requires experience with F/A-18 fatigue analysis methodology and Boeing (Prime Contractor) life analysis software. Activities include a large amount of coordination with the Navy customer. Responsibilities include life assessment of packages based on fleet data, structural analysis for both metallic and advanced composite structures. Tasks include classical hand static analysis, finite element model use and development, structural integrity evaluations, and durability and damage tolerance assessments. Responsible for all types of structural parts as well as assembly analysis associated with installation of these parts in the F/A-18. Candidate will be expected to provide technical evaluations and guidance to peer must be able to work with minimal management oversight. Good communication skills, and demonstrated leadership qualities are essential.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) from an accredited university
A minimum of 5 years' experiencein structural analysis.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with F/A-18 airplane structure
Familiarity with F/A-18 fatigue test article.
Familiarity with life assessment methodology unique to F/A-18 program.
Familiarity/experience with FEMAP, Patran, and Nastran FEM tools.
Durability and damage tolerance analysis.
MS office, and structural analysis of aircraft structure (ASTRA tools)${descr2}${descr3}
