Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United

States. Air & Missile Defense Systems (A&MDS) serves as Northrop Grumman Information Systems’ focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications

(C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.

NGMS MET-I Program has an opening on the National Defense Team for a Engineer Software Systems 3 in Huntsville, Al. The Software Systems Engineer (Coder/Programmer) Engineer 3 establishes and administers the toolset (DOORS/System Architect) process for developing and managing requirements; access control; and configuration control for multiple users of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) requirements. This individual will adhere to the Program Configuration Management Plan for the DOORS and System Architect tools to allow designated/approved users to share the BMDS Technical Baseline data while maintaining strict access control and data integrity. Duties include development or update of schema needed for multiple users, configuration control of requirement/architecture baseline products, generation of reports / artifacts from the tool, preparation of deliverables to customer, managing user access, conducting user training, and documenting/updating process and procedures guides & checklists. Individual is responsible for supporting engineering design tasks, customizing the tool as needed, executing upgrades, and troubleshooting problems

Basic Qualifications: 5-8 Years experience with Bachelors in Science with in STEM or Technical discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. Software programing background with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience using and maintaining system engineering tools and processes as an administrator of the IBM Rational DOORS toolset and a strong working knowledge of UML-based system modeling tools such as System Architect, Rhapsody, etc. Demonstrated experience of programming in the DOORS Extension Language (DXL) and C-type language for script usage within DOORS and programming/script writing with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

Preferred Qualifications: Educational or certification credentials for DOORS tools. Experience using JavaScript, Java, & HTML and as a SharePoint Developer experience using is a plus. Experience with requirements development/management on a system-of-system DoD program is desired. Additional knowledge of missile defense systems to include BMDS, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, X-Band Radar (XBR), or other major DoD weapons systems is preferred. Experience with systems engineering design and specification documentation is desired. The candidate must have good writing, organizing, and communication / collaboration skills. Data Management knowledge is desired
