Engineer Software 3/4
The NGMS AEA, Airborne Electronic Attack, software team is looking to fill contingent software engineering positions to work with our Navy customer, NAWCWD (Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division), at Point Mugu. The work is for a Family of System (FoS)for jamming pods that currently address communication threats. A new variant is in development to address radar threats. This effort provides a distributed, adaptable and networked Airborne Electronic Warfare capability, both manned and unmanned for both fixed and rotary winged aircraft. The open architecture software design is distributed, adaptable and net-centric and can be rapidly reprogrammed. Linux, web services, and Agile Development Methodology with experience with associated Agile tools.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
The basic requirements for a level 3 are a Bachelor's degree Engineering, Computer Sciences or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or related discipline and 3 years experience in the field of software design and development.
The basic requirements for a level 4 are a Bachelor's degree in related STEM degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in a related STEM degree and 7 years of relevant experience in the field of software design and development.
Additional qualifications for both levels are:
•Working knowledge of web services development utilizing LINUX, Java, XML, XSD, and DDS
•Must have experience with formal software life cycle development methodologies, requirements through test.
•Must have experience in Agile development methodologies
•Demonstrated leadership experience for a small to mid-size team of software engineers
•Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a self-directed manner
•Must be a U.S. citizen with a Secret clearance required to start
• Some familiarity of DI2E is preferred.
•CMMI certification experience (level 3-5)
•Experience with open architecture standards and concepts
•Experience in EA (Electronic Attack) software development
