Engineer Software 3/4

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of talented, diverse individuals located in Boulder, CO.

The qualified applicant will become part of a Northrop Grumman team to design, develop, verify and validate software applications for Missile Defense programs utilizing Infrared sensor data. The individual must be comfortable with working in a team-focused, collaborative environment and participate in all tasks relating to software design, implementation, and integration & testing. This position requires a self-starter who is able to self-manage based on what the project team identifies as priorities and flexible enough to succeed in a dynamically changing work environment. The applicant must also have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

This position is located in Boulder, CO, and includes:

  • Design, development and test of software applications in C/C , Java, and Python
  • Ensure software design and coding standards are met
  • Generation of applicable design and test documentation
  • Participation in peer reviews
  • Interfacing with lead engineer and cross-functional technical staff
  • Support problem resolution and provide improvement recommendations
  • Travel to NG and Government locations within U.S.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Qualifications for Engineer Software 3:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related discipline, with 5 years of related experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with at least one of the following: C, C , Java, Python, Red Hat Linux, XML, Ant, Eclipse or Clearcase

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software development experience of complex systems in a team environment.
  • Ground systems experience in mission processing, ground communications, or space operations.

Qualifications for Engineer Software 4:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related discipline, with 9 years of related experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with C, C , Java, Python, Red Hat Linux, XML, Ant, Eclipse and Clearcase,
  • Software development experience of complex systems in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mathematical background and familiarity with IR sensors and simulations.
  • Ground systems experience in mission processing, ground communications, or space operations.
