Engineer Software 2/3

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineer 2/3 for their Aurora, CO location.

Software Engineers will work on the development, integration, and maintenance of a unique operationally deployed system. The selected candidate must possess the ability to work as a member of a small, highly skilled team in a dynamic environment and participate in systems design, code development, GUI updates, debugging, and integration and test of modifications/enhancements into the operational baseline. The position also requires an individual with the ability to work on technical challenges and to provide innovative solutions, to include troubleshooting the system, implementation of new capabilities for future versions of the system, and support to test and documentation personnel. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a band 2 or a band 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Band 2:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 2 years software development experience; 0 years with a Masters
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; must be willing to take a polygraph

Basic Qualifications for a Band 3:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 5 years software development experience; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; must be willing to take a polygraph

Preferred Qualifications for Bands 2 & 3:

  • Experience with Java and C/C software development
  • Experience with Bash scripting or similar
  • Experience with Web Development
  • Experience with Cloud Development/Deployment
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with source control software (Clearcase, SourceSafe, etc.)
  • Experience with ClearQuest (use and administration)
  • Experience with GitHub
  • Experience with supporting operational systems
  • Experience working within an Agile Development process
  • Knowledge of Virtualized Environments, including architecture, creation, deployment and management of VMs
  • Knowledge of object oriented design
  • Knowledge of software lifecycles
