Engineer Software 2/3

We are seeking a Software Engineer 2/3 to join the Resilient Network Solutions (RNS) operating unit. As part of Northrop Grumman's business focus area on Communications, RNS provides world-class communications with a range of capabilities spanning from quick reaction/urgent need programs to complex communication integration efforts.

Roles & Responsibilities: Northrop Grumman's TDL Products group is looking for software developers to support multiple software product lines. Primary responsibilities include performing analyses of Tactical Data Link (TDL) standards to derive technical requirements in support of development efforts. In addition to standards analyses, the candidate will perform software design, development, unit testing and integration of new capabilities into the product line. Development efforts will include software estimation, and scheduling to ensure that development efforts acknowledge the technical, schedule and cost constraints for the project.
This position's primary work location is at Northrop Grumman's Spectrum Center facility in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities include:
C/C++ and JavaScript software development and maintenance.
Ability to work independently or on a team.
Communicate clearly and effectively with the development team and team lead.
Support requirements definition and specifications for software enhancements.
Design and implement software enhancements and maintenance.
Create and execute unit and integration tests, and document test procedures.
Document software changes in updates to operator manuals and white papers.
Support system integration.
Travel as necessary.

Basic Qualifications for level 2:
The basic requirements for a level 2 are a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related
technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree and 0 years' experience.

Basic Qualifications for level 3:
The basic requirements for a level 3 are a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related
technical discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree and 3 years' experience.

Additional expereince for Level 2 and level 3, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
Demonstrate a good knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards and proficiency with C or C++ software.
Experience in software engineering/development and/or related experience using C/C++ or JavaScript
Practical experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements through integration and
testing.
Experience with designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging applications software and systems that
contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Ability to work on a team and to execute tasks according to published schedules.
Working knowledge of software version control applications.
Be able to function under general supervision and review of work for sound judgment, adequacy and accuracy.
Apply organizational, communication and interpersonal skills when coordinating with both internal and external
management, staff and customers.
Must be a U.S. Citizen withability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge/experience in the following is preferred: GIT, JIRA, Sonar Cube, Fortify, Node.js, Electron, Vue.js, React&Redux
Knowledge/experience with the following test tools is preferred: TIGER, MLST3, LMS, ADSI, JRE, Gateway Manager
Knowledge/experience with the following data links is preferred: Link 16, SADL, JREAP, VMF, CDL/TCDL, CoT, MIL-STD-6020 Data Forwarding
