Engineer Software 2 / 3 - Java / Python / C++

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking experienced Software Engineer's grade 2 or 3 to join our team in Beavercreek, Ohio. We are seeking cleared or clearable Software Engineers who are self-motivated, energetic individuals with a background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline who are interested in solving cyber challenges of national interest.

Successful candidates will participate in a broad range of applications with exposure to a variety of programs that provide critical solutions to U.S. government agencies and the Department of Defense. Consequently, we are seeking engineers who already have security clearance, or those who are readily clearable.

The selected engineer will:

Develop solutions for national security threats, creating products that may involve networking and communication systems.
Work with various multi-disciplined product development teams to develop software systems and tools, participate in technical reviews and provide customer support.
Perform analysis/modification of existing software
Develop software using languages such as C/C++, Java, Python or PHP
Generate applicable documentation
Interface with customers, program management and technical staff
Provide problem resolution and improvement recommendations
Occasionally travel to Northrop Grumman and Government locations within the United States
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a level2 or a level 3.

BQs for a Software Engineer3 are:
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of relevant work experience OR a M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3 years of relevant work experience (OR a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 0 years of relevant work experience).

BQs for a Software Engineer2 are:
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2 years of relevant work experience OR a M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 0 years of relevant work experience.

Demonstrated software development skills in C/C++ or Java and a familiarity with scripting languages(i.e. Python, PHP).
Experience with or exposure to analysis tools such as Wireshark or WinDBG .
Active TS clearance and the ability to maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience developing software for multiple operating system environments
Experience with virtual machine technologies
Experience in software development, including any of the following: embedded programming, command and control, web applications, network applications, software configuration management tools
OS Internals experience
Experience with the Agile development methodology
Active security clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
