Engineer Quality 4

Realize the rewards of conquering a new challenge. Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Engineer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance Functional Organization. Please note, relocation assistance is not available for this position

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • As a Mission Assurance lead supporting the C-RAM program, the preferred candidate will develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses
  • Ensure that product performance and quality conforms to established company and regulatory standards
  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems (production)
  • Investigate problems, develop disposition recommendations, as well as corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met
  • Recommend enhancements and modifications to improve product/process performance
  • Perform evaluations and/or audits of processes and products,write reports and performs Risk Based Process Evaluations
  • Track Supplier Assessment Management System reports and Supplier Quality Ratings
  • Assess monthly quality status and present at management reviews
  • Manage Risk and Opportunity for the program.
  • Review and evaluate sub-contractor risk
  • Support program proposal activities/write MA Basis Of Estimates (BOEs)

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline and 9+ years of industry experience within quality, auditing, manufacturing, engineering, and/or business management (7+ years with a master's degree)
  • Audit experience
  • Experience working with Risk Management Tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in risk management, defect detection, defect control, process improvement, quality improvement,trend analysis and root causeanalysis
  • Experience developing and accessing program processes against AS9100 and CMMI standards
  • Ability to work proactively in a dynamic and collaborative environmentwith minimal supervision or direction
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office Tools

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Experience with quality analytics, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues to root cause
  • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor
  • Six Sigma/Lean Green or Black Belt
  • Trained to CMMI-DEV 1.2
  • SAP trained
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Active Secret Clearance
