Engineer Quality 4

N orthrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Engineer 4 with hardware experience to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will perform the following:

* Collaborate in a team environment, negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project results.
* Perform Specification Compliance Reviews, First Article Inspections and Source inspections
* Understands continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities.
* Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
* Compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for understanding and addressing supplier process issues and developing solutions.
* Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable.
* Effectively perform supplier surveillance activities designed to manage and improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation.
* Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our suppliers processes and capabilities.
* Work with the Key Supplier and Technology Teams to manage key suppliers, ensure the suppliers are performing well and drive process improvements while ensuring their capacity and capability to deliver products on time is acceptable.
* Understands general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment.
* Possesses the ability and skill to review and interpret regulatory requirements, specifically in the area of Mission Assurance and quality.
* Establish positive working relationships with suppliers.
* Develop and mentor new engineers.
* Lead Supplier performance management by analyzing performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement
* Proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims
* Lead cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals
* Prevent/Minimize business impact from supplied material defects; supplier quality risk mitigation
* Submit, review, coach, accept supplier corrective actions requests
* Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University in a related STEM field.
- Nine+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Holds Interim Secret or Active Secret DOD Secret Security Clearance. (US Citizenship required.)

Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP expertise
- ISO 9001, T9001B, and/or AS9100 trained auditor
- Advanced Excel skills
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
