Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Mechanical 5, Liaison Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.



The selected candidate will develop and release Engineering dispositions in an MRB system.

Essential Functions:
- Provide Engineering dispositions for nonconforming material, parts, and assemblies
- Interpret Engineering drawings and documentation for Production personnel
- Support the Corrective Action process by making drawing changes
- Investigate and provide Engineering dispositions for Requests for
Information/Change (RCI)
- Provide status to leadership of all work in progress
- Act as mentor/coach to newer team members
- Work with Catia v5 and MES systems

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a shop environment and be able to collaborate closely with other disciplines both engineering and non-engineering related.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and14 years of engineering experience OR 12 years with a Master's or 9 with a PhD.
  • Experience developing repairs and other dispositions
  • Knowledge of, and proficiency with Catia v5 design system
  • Experience with MES to disposition nonconformances


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Experience with MES to disposition nonconformances
Knowledge of, and proficiency with Catia v5 design system
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
