Engineer Mechanical 2/3 Component Test

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team of motivated, innovative individuals. This individual will plan and execute component tests to improve design and validate requirements. The ideal candidate enjoys being hands on, is skilled in writing and executing procedures, and is enthusiastic about data acquisition systems. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Determine data requirements and create tests to collect needed data
  • Direct and conduct component tests
  • Collect data and provide results to design engineers
  • Generate task plans and support proposal efforts

Some travel (10-20%) to test sites will be required.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3 based on qualifications listed below.

SNYVLCA

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2+ years relevant work experience, or Masters degree in a STEM discipline with no experience
  • Experience working with data collection instrumentation (eg pressure transducers, thermo-couples, or accelerometers)
  • Secret security clearance active in the past 2 years
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5+ years of relevant work experience, or Masters degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience working with data collection instrumentation (eg pressure transducers, thermo-couples, or accelerometers)
  • Experience planning tasks and executing to the established schedule
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Secret security clearance active in the past 2 years
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Systems engineering (ie requirements traceability)
