Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to work in Redondo Beach, California.

This Mechanical Engineer 2 will support mechanical design integration for a spacecraft program. The engineer will have responsibility for design and documentation in the form of studies, layouts, interface control drawings, installation drawings, mylars, control plans, and CAD database management. This role requires an individual with demonstrated team leadership experience and ability to perform integration activities. Experience in the procurement of spacecraft hardware with related supplier management skills is also desired.

Must be able to obtain and maintain program access.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
  • 2 years experiencedirectly related to aircraft mechanical systems development and design.
  • Proven engineering team leadership and supplier management skills.
  • Professional experience with 3D modeling software, such as NX, CATIA, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks
  • Active SCI Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering plus a Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Technical Management, or an MBA.
  • Master of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
