Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aMaterial Process Engineer 4to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA

The selected candidate will p rovide technical support for composites, bonded assemblies and related flight hardware as a member of the F-35 Composites Team. This position will also include providing technical input as an IPT member involved with design, fabrication, and assembly of composite structures, development and insertion of technological advancements for composite production and the qualification of suppliers.

The successful candidate should have a strong working knowledge of the composite prepregs, honeycomb and adhesive materials; fabrication, assembly and repair processesused onF-35 composite structures; excellent written and oral presentation skills; be team oriented and have problem solving analytical skills. Experience with chemical and mechanical test methods, composite tooling and composite inspection methods, as well as the MRB and MES systems are also desired.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in chemistry or material science.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in Materials or processes for aircraft integration with aBachelor's of Science or 7 years f experience with a Master's.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree in chemistry or material science
