Engineer Material Process 3

Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related.
- Experience with thin film optical materials and thin film characterization techniques.
- Experience with statistical methods and analysis.
- Ability to clearly present and communicate ideas, concepts, and plans.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Project planning
- Experience providing technical direction to production personnel
- Minimum 6 years industry experience.
- Experience with optical thin films; thin film modeling software (TFCalc, Optilayer, etc.)
- Ability to model complex systems
- Technical writing skills in support of proposal submissions

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess an active DOD security clearance.
