Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Manufacturing 1. This position will be located at one of our Aerospace Systems Sector sites: California (Palmdale, El Segundo, Redondo Beach, San Diego), Florida (St. Augustine, Melbourne) or Mississippi (Moss Point).

On our team, you'll help support the development of satellites, manned and unmanned aircraft, and ground systems that enhance our knowledge.

Our Aerospace Systems team develops, integrates, produces, and supports manned and unmanned aircraft, spacecraft, high-energy laser systems, microelectronics, and other systems and subsystems critical to keeping the world safe.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Global Manufacturing Operations organization. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, equipment engineering, manufacturing tooling, or related STEM degree.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications: Power Point, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to understand difficult technical issues and then solve them with robust technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship experience on an aerospace program within the aerospace industry
  • Familiarity with using CATIA v5 and familiar with VWI creation, MES and VAS
  • Minimum GPA of 3.7
  • Ability to obtain DoD Clearance (dependent on position)
