What You'll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector, Philadelphia Test and Assembly Site is seeking a motivated individual looking for an opportunity to be challenged as a Manufacturing Engineer.
The Manufacturing Engineer 4 will support Manufacturing Operations Engineering in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Test and Assembly Facility. He/she will be responsible for the implementation of the latest industry manufacturing technology and techniques and will also incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. The Manufacturing Engineer will also inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and will investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. The chosen candidate will provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques and will ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
The Manufacturing Engineer conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with Manufacturing. She/he will be challenged to work with Design Engineering to enable more producible designs as well as Inspection validating that output meets the drawing and specification requirements for the product life cycle.
The Manufacturing Engineer must be able to work individually as well as collaborate, share, and engage in teamwork with a diverse group of individuals. He/she must be able to work tactically; be aware of the future strategy; and have solid communication skills, strong leadership, collaboration, interpersonal, and team-building skills. The successful candidate will be able to communicate formally and informally with management personnel inside and outside of organization
The Manufacturing Engineer must have experience and is comfortable with working 50% of time or more on factory floor in a union environment with hours that may span multiple shifts

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering or other STEM degree PLUS 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with an MS degree)
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (this requires US citizenship)
Ability to read mechanical drawings and solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, (GD&T)
Hands on knowledge and experience with machine tool equipment and machine shop processes (Vertical and Horizontal Machining centers)
Hands on experience with tool and fixture design
Hands on experience with Large Mechanical Assembly and Heavy Lifting Principles
Siemens NX or similar solid modeling experience such as Solidworks/Pro E
Ability to train, mentor, and/or develop less experienced engineers
Fluency in MS Office Tools with a focus on documentation
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and/or metallurgical specialties in exotic materials
Manufacturing or engineering background in a marine discipline (e.g., Rotating Machinery engineering or manufacturing)
Active Secret Security Clearance or higher
Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Background
3D CAD Modeling Experience - NX preferred
Experience with Team center
Experience in implementing new designs and processes into a factory environment
Experience with CMM's, hard gages and SPC
Working knowledge and past experience with equipment and tool suppliers
Six Sigma Certification
Experience with both development and production hardware projects
Weld experience, commercial and/or DoD standards
