Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for their next Engineer Test Electronics. The Test Engineering group within the Electronics Assembly and Test Department is seeking their next Test Engineer with experience working with a cross-disciplinary team (including technicians, design engineers, system engineers, quality engineers), writing test procedures, and supporting board, slice and unit electronic testing of digital, RF, and power converter products in a fast paced manufacturing environment. This position is based in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Test Engineers are responsible for working with the design team to maximize product testability, for providing test flows and reviewing work plans, and for reviewing test equipment and test set requirements to ensure compatibility with available facilities and to identify additional facilities that may be required. Test engineers are also expected to identify general support type test equipment that will be needed during production testing, to determine if there is a need for test fixtures, and to review test fixture design for testability and maintainability. Test engineers write, review and approve all test procedures and interface with the ground support department during test set design and sell-off.

During the test phase of production, test engineers are EA&T's test liaison with systems engineering, design engineering, software engineering, ground support, security, process planning, environmental test, quality, and program management. Test engineers are responsible for providing technical support for generating procedure change orders, dispositioning test discrepancy reports and providing on floor technical support.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with at least 2 years of experience; OR 0 Years of experience with a Masters


Peferred Qualifications:
  • Candidate has, or is be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept. of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years, OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years, OR Dept. of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with presenting status to program/customer, experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, etc. and working in a hardware manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with facilities (IT, electricians) to ensure necessary test set requirements are met
  • Experience creating cable/test fixture aids to assist with testing and/or troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting flight hardware troubleshooting, and reviewing test data
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
