Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a SIGINT Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. Northrop Grumman is looking for world-class talent in Mission Engineering to join a group dedicated to supporting advanced aircraft systems. This position requires a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) background in order to provide technical expertise in support of development, qualification and support of SIGINT systems for advanced aircraft.

Essential Functions:

  • Review specifications, system integration and verification processes
  • Influence program direction to address issues with legacy systems while supporting development of future systems.
  • Provide support to customer activities and programmatic processes.
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, brief Program Management as required. Provide task-based schedule and resource forecasts for support of supplier activities.
  • Support development of Concept of Operations (CONOP) for new capabilities and coordinate them across the affected organizations.
  • Assist in the Mission Engineering domain with development of End-to-End understanding of product data flow to include the potential growth areas.
  • Assist in the development of system level, functional level and interface requirements.
  • Identify gaps between requirements and acquisition program capabilities being conducted by the customer.
  • Support Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) development as it relates to performance based activities and future contract opportunities.
  • Support the enterprise architects to update appropriate documentation to identify, clarify, and track tasks requirements with associated issues, remove barriers, while escalating to the proper level of management for those risks affecting program performance.
  • Effective working in a team environment demonstrating effective verbal and written communications skills with internal and external customers.
  • The candidate must also be capable in the role of mentor/advisor in developing a skill base with junior engineering personnel.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
  • Experience with SIGINT sensors or products.
  • Knowledge of both ELINT and COMINT data applications as it pertains to sensor command & control, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (CPED)
  • This position requires at least 14 years of STEM related experience or 12 years with a Master's Degree.
  • Must have an active in scope DOD Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain special program access.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree a plus
  • Experience as a Technical Lead at Distributed Common Ground Stations (DCGS), Core and Remote sites, providing support for sensor and ground system a plus.
  • Experience with Accreditation and Certification of System High Homogenous and Heterogeneous computing environments with a Security+ (DoD 8570) Certification a plus.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI
