Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will support Communications
Subsystem development, integration, and flight test operations.

Essential Functions:
- Perform subsystem analysis, document system requirements and interfaces, with traceability to platform requirements.
- Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration.
- Perform/support design reviews, or reviews of design related documentation (ICDs, system and subsystem design documents, etc.).
- Perform System Integration Lab (SIL) and flight test planning and execution.
- Perform field integration, troubleshooting and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flight line, in a hangar, and in command and control centers.
- Evaluate flight test performance and prepare test reports.
- Perform change management and engineering change proposal (ECP) duties, including preparation, analysis, planning and execution.
- Support development and management of integrated schedules, earned value and status reports, briefings and other program communications.
- Coordinating identification, tracking, and resolution of all risks, issues, and opportunities, including root cause/corrective action of technical issues.
- Serve as Control Account Manager (CAM) for internal labor tasks and supplier tasks, including managing cost, schedule, and performance of those tasks.
- Serve as the primary interface to the program manager and to the communications system supplier.
- Serve as the Responsible Engineer, including conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description
- Participate in periodic meetings with customer, subcontractors, and partners spanning multiple disciplines such as test, systems, software, hardware, air vehicle, quality, data management, and product support.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum 9 years of STEM related experience or 7 years of STEM related experience with a Master's Degree.
- Must have working knowledge of communications technologies, examples include: Satellite and Line-of-Sight (LOS) RF communications, control interfaces, co-site interference.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree
- Working knowledge of US DoD Communication systems such as INMARSAT, Wide Band SATCOM, UHF SATCOM, UHF LOS, and/or Common Data Link (CDL), for supporting autonomous aircraft C2 and voice systems.
- Working knowledge of tactical data links.
- Experience working with suppliers.
- Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work confidently in a high-pressure environment, while interacting with all levels of staff from flight-line and field technicians to executive management.
- Excellent leadership skills, be a self-starter, pay close attention to details, and have the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft computer skills i.e. Excel, Power Point, and Word, Outlook and Visio.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited direction within the scope of an assignment and use independent judgment in determining methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
