Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. The Electronics & Payloads Directorate is seeking a senior engineer to assume the role of hardware Subsystems Engineer for Ground Segment Modernization Plan (GSMP). In this role you will directly lead a team of 2 engineers and will be responsible for project execution.

Essential Functions:
Be a part of a Supplier Management Team, support supplier management including SOW, schedule, cost, understanding of CFE (Customer Furnished Equipment) and GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) required for suppliers to accomplish their SOW, and how the supplier SOWs maps to the Integrated Master Schedule both at Northrop Grumman and Supplier.
Develop, refine and maintain supplier statements of work, specifications and interface control documents.
Participate in all related program and supplier design reviews.
Understand, derive and maintain applicable system and subsystem requirements.
Provide SMS technical guidance and coordination across engineering team and between all program areas.
Task & IMS management for all related program activities.
Assume role as Control Account Manager (CAM) and perform Earned Value Management (EVM)
Reporting regular status, accomplishments, and technical/resource/staffing challenges to team and IPT management.
Perform Risk & Opportunity Management.
Travel to sites for installation & testing
Other responsibilities may be required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor™s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.
9 years of Engineering experience or 7 years with a Master™s Degree in a STEM related field.
Must be able to travel up to 25%.
Must have supplier management experience.
Active in scope DOD Secret Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Systems Engineer or Engineering Management
Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate across program level (management, peer REs and IPT leads, and team members), and negotiate / integrate different viewpoints.
