Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Hardware Engineer III to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will be a critical member of the Ground Segment design team. The design team is responsible for the architecture, design, and configuration of Triton ground segments, which require integration of commercial IT equipment with military/aerospace specific weapon replaceable unit (WRAs) in a highly controlled aerospace environment.

Essential Functions:
-Design and Develop engineering artifacts for the system architecture and configuration
-Responsible for maintaining build schedule to the program requirements
-Build, integrate and test software/hardware systems for command and control systems and ensure that the installations are properly implemented
-Implement engineering changes to the system as required
-Develop and release acceptance test procedures
-Work with vendors to specify hardware and generate altered item drawings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years ofEngineering engineering experience ORMaster's Degree in STEM and 3 years engineering experience
  • An active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with commercial IT equipment and architecture


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Comp TIA A+ certification
  • Test development and execution experience
