Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Electronics 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.
This position is open to being supported out of El Segundo and Rancho Bernardo. If located out of El Segundo and Rancho Bernardo, up to 50% travel may be required.
The Electronic Warfare Engineer 4/5 is expected to be a highly-motivated self-starter with the ability to own and manage all efforts related to meeting assigned Electronic Warfare payload commitments for the program you are assigned for technical performance, cost, schedule and supplier management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Understand thoroughly all system requirements; develop statements of work, specifications and interface control documents and participate in all related design reviews
Provide technical guidance and coordination across the cross-functional team between program areas.
Supplier management including SOW, schedule, cost, understanding what CFE & GFE supplier needs to accomplish their SOW, and how the SOW maps to the schedule/IMS both at NG and supplier.
Own interface with Program Management
Task & IMS management for all related program activities
Reporting regular status, accomplishments, and technical/resource/staffing challenges to team and IPT management.
Program Risk & Opportunity Management
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 Years of experience with Bachelors in Science or 3 Years of experience with Masters or 0 Years with PhD
- Practical working knowledge of Electronics Warfare system integration, including Signals Intelligence.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Electronic Warfare systems software requirements and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification (end-to-end development) and operation of a sensor suite
- Active DoDTop Secret SecurityClearance with a background investigation within the last six years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs.
(Electrical/Computer Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace) or related technical discipline (Physics, Mathematics)
MS in Engineering
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
MS Office, scheduling methods, and technical writing skills (including proposals)
Demonstrated ability to communicate with different levels of employees (managers, supervisors and team members) and negotiate / integrate different viewpoints
