Engineer CAD CAM 3

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a CAD/CAM Engineer 3 Lead to join our BWI Linthicum team.

The Engineer will support the Mechanical Engineering team and conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with circuit designers and/or product line engineers in the design, development, and utilization of software to simulate the characteristics and parameters of integrated systems (IS) components, modules, or complete products under operating environment.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to determining user needs; advising hardware designers on characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designing and developing compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems including integrated graphic analysis.
Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S Degree in a S.T.E.M. related field with5 years of experience;3 years with a M.S Degree or9 years of experience in Lieu of a Degree.
  • Senior ECAD Designer, proficient with Mentor Graphic Tools, primarily Expedition/DXD VX versions.
  • Designer to be experienced with multiple PCB product types, especially: Complex High Speed Digital/HDI designs/blind and buried via usage and Serdes/Memory/DDR2/DDR3 routing schemes.
  • Experienced and very proficient with CES andDRC use and interpretations. Candidate to also be proficient with the use of Valor fabrication checks, DFM reports and outputs.
  • Proficientwith "PCB part placement and routing flow" is also required for dense/multi-layer/composite designs.
  • U.S Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to Mentor and/or manage other ECAD Designers per manager's direction.Assist Engineering regarding the more refined and precise techniques used with PCB layout and routing.
