Engineer 3, Parts/Standards Engineering – Electrical/Electronic Specialist
The candidate will support Parts & Standards Engineering efforts related to electrical interconnect systems (connector, cable, harness) and electronic component technologies. Near-term responsibility:
Service the system/product Design Engineering community with Electrical/Electronic/Optical part selection, application, and assembly/installation guidance through 1-on-1, design review, and peer review scenarios;
Service the Program's supply chain, internal manufacturing & assembly, and logistics/field support communities when Part/Standard product or process questions/issues arise;
Define and maintain the internal Specs & Standards "catalog", electrical Standards drawings & documentation, and related infrastructure (including PDM/PLM).
Candidate will be working across various NG Aerospace Programs and Program phases. Position is in El Segundo initially. Some travel required.
- BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
- 5 years of component design, development & manufacturing experience at the OCM/OEM level; or 5 years of component selection & application at the system design/integration level;
- Ability to travel to support multiple sites;
- A security clearance (SSBI) or the ability to obtain one is required.
Candidate shall have demonstrated strong component design, manufacturing & assembly competence relating to high-reliability interconnect and electronics technology (from DC to multiple GHz.), be familiar with the Military & Industry Specs & Standards, and have broad knowledge of the Electrical/Electronic supply chain.
Candidate will have demonstrated: high performance and self-direction in completion of assignments; effectiveness working in dynamic & high-pressure team environments; and proficiency in oral and written communication (English).
Must have a working knowledge of contemporary PDM/PLM, CAD, and related enterprise systems/tools.
Experience 5 years of component design, development & manufacturing experience at the OCM/OEM level; or 5 years of component selection & application at the system design/integration level. Aerospace industry experience a plus.
