Engineer 2, B-2 Bomber

Northrop Grumman Technology Services seeks a structural engineer to serve within our engineering team. The individual will support efforts across multiple locations to upgrade and sustain the B-2 bomber. Responsibilities will include: evaluate and resolve engineering related production, post-production and product upgrade problems related to manufacturing, installation, design, quality and material engineering. Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems. Examines, measures, inspects or tests defective parts for conformance. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective actions.Basic Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience should include design and/or repair of metallic and composite aircraft structure, aircraft material selection and compatibility, and using computer drawing and 3-D solid modeling software. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills are required. Must demonstrate initiative, perform well in a team environment, and have strong technical problem solving abilities. The candidate must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance and must maintain eligibility for additional clearances to continue employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Desired skills include CATIA V5 3-D solid modeling proficiency, experience in aircraft component fabrication and machining processes, and finite element analysis. Current security clearance a significant plus.
