Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide manufacturing and process engineering technical support and project management for our Ammunition production programs in Plymouth, MN. This position is focused on the manufacturing of large caliber ammunition components and subassemblies with both internal and external facilities. Major responsibilities include:
Development and oversight of production processes for products in development and full rate production at Plymouth, other Northrop Grumman locations and at subcontractor facilities.
Provide manufacturing engineering, project management and leadership to assigned hardware.
Support and/or lead failure investigations, root cause determination and corrective action implementation.
Understand and flow customer requirements to subcontractors.
Represent Northrop Grumman while traveling approximately 25-40% domestically to our customers and suppliers.
Conceptualize and implement continuous improvement projects.
Communicate project status and issues to management and customers.
Implement and manage strong manufacturing engineering principals to ensure robust production processes and high product quality. Examples include SPC, PFMEA, mistake proofing, gage R&R, production readiness reviews, equipment qualifications and first article inspections.

Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering required.
Minimum of 2 years (or 0 years with a M.S. degree) of manufacturing engineering experience in both product development and/or production environments.
Experience working with customer engineering, vendors and subcontractors.
Ability to travel domestically.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Failure analysis and root cause determination.
Experience in project management, coordinating activities across functional groups and communicating project status.
Prior experience working in the defense industry and/or with U.S. Government contracts.
