Embedded Software Engineer 2/3

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Embedded C/C Software Engineer to be responsible for writing device drivers, middleware, and application development for Linux and/or VxWorks Platforms. The work will involve design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of software and drivers in C/C . The person will interface with systems engineering to develop flow down software requirements and technical specifications. This person will need to identify risks, suggest mitigation, track defects and develop resolutions and report status. Will also develop and execute unit and build verification test plans, track and report test status. Java experience with Linux is a plus.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications below.

This position can be filled at a Level 2 or a Level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering /Computer Science or other related technical area.

2 years of related experience.

Knowledge of C/C Embedded Development.

DoD Secret clearance with reinvestigation within the last 5 years.

Experience with development of device drivers and middleware features. Experience in C/C and real time processing including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization mechanisms, memory management. Knowledge of embedded RTOS systems and willing to work in the lab to debug hardware issues. Familiarity with a structured process driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking, and build release practices required. Excellent communication and documentation skills required.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering /Computer Science or other related technical area.

5 years of related experience (3 with MS Degree)

DoD Secret clearance with reinvestigation within the last 5 years.

Knowledge of embedded RTOS systems and willing to work in the lab to debug hardware issues. Excellent communication and documentation skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in VxWorks RTOS device driver development preferred. Experience with Linux or other RTOS is a plus. Experience with AT capabilities (e.g. cryptographic, secure comms, logging, SW deployment) a plus. Experience with test application design and development a plus.
