Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Northrop Grumman Aerospace has an opening for an Embedded Flight Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will be part of a software engineering team performing embedded software development activities. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative team settings across all levels.
We are seeking a Software Engineer to perform board-level software development and test activities. Candidate will write software to test flight hardware and demonstrate connectivity, install software on, boot up, and check-out of flight hardware, become familiarized with the SPA API and SSM Framework, and assist checkout for a pair of EM Software Defined Radios that run embedded Linux.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 2 years of applied engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM and 0 years of engineering experience
- Experience developing software with C++
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Master's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited University/College
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
