Electronic Technician 2
AOA Xinetics (AOX), a Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) strategic business unit, is currently seeking an Electronic Technician 2 for our East Hartford, CT site.
Under supervision, the Electronic Technician 2 will perform routine technical functions related to the support of manufacturing activities such as testing, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance will be readily available for the Electronic Technician from engineering staff. S/He will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks. They will also perform routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications, as well as diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to component level.
The Electronic Technician will conduct defined engineering tests, collect data as assigned, and utilize routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience.
The Electronic Technician 2 position will support electronic board testing, assembly and development activities under supervision of manager, engineer or scientist. This position will be involved with assembly and testing of complex electronic boards and sub modules which may include optical and fiber optic based components.
Primary job duties will include developing and setting up work areas to assemble and test assemblies and sub assemblies. Additional duties may include setting up experiments using electronic and optical test equipment, conducting tests, and recording data. The position may involve assembly and alignment of mechanical and/or opto-mechanical subassemblies, machining/fabricating parts. The Electronic Technician 2 must be able to accurately develop and document these and other work processes.
