The Electrical Engineer performs technical planning, electrical systems design, electrical systems interface definition, electrical system integration, electrical system verification and validation test support, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Systems are typically radar systems.
The Electrical Engineer roles and responsibilities include:
•Work with a skilled team of experienced former military test pilots, system software and hardware experts, and other flight test professionals integrating and testing advanced electronic systems on board highly modified experimental aircraft
•Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
•Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation
•Occasionally (15-20% of time) operate out of customer locations (typically military test centers; domestically only, no overseas travel anticipated)
•Participate in systems test involving monitoring and operating systems while aircraft is involved in a flight test
•Must have excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to lead working groups and technical interchange meetings
•Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited direction within the scope of an assignment and use independent judgment in determining methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria
The chosen candidate must have the ability and desire to work in a fast paced, fluid environment and adapt to frequently changing needs of programs and customers on a weekly or daily basis.
