Northrop Grumman is seeking Electrical Engineers with strong technical talent to join and support a variety of programs across ground, air, and space.
Opportunities are located in various geographical locations such as Florida, Oklahoma, and California.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Aerospace Systems sector in the Electronics and Payloads (E&P) Directorate.
Our Aerospace Systems team develops, integrates, produces, and supports manned and unmanned aircraft, spacecraft, high-energy laser systems, microelectronics, and other systems and subsystems critical to keeping the world safe.
We are hiring for the following concentrations below:
Communications Engineers are responsible for design, analysis, development, integration, and test of space and aviation related communications systems. Specific tasks performed in this role are requirements management, system integration, test plan development/execution, analysis (link budgets, antenna design and signal characteristics).
Responsibilities: perform communication system analysis and system performance trade studies; document system requirements and interfaces, with traceability to platform requirements; perform review and analysis of test data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration; perform liaison duties to disseminate information to suppliers and other Integrated Product Teams.
Coursework: Communication system theory, modulation theory, discrete time systems
Digital Design Engineers are responsible for design, analysis, development, and test of wide range of Digital hardware including processors, demodulators, routers, ASICs/FPGAs, for space and airborne applications.
Responsibilities: Perform circuit/schematic/PCB design and analysis, develop/test/troubleshoot prototype hardware, perform data reduction and analysis, develop and flow down requirements, perform architectural trade studies, implement/verify/integrate/test final designs.
Coursework: Digital circuit design, FPGA/Microcontroller design
Power Electronics Engineer are responsible for design, analysis, development, and test of advanced power electronics for space and airborne applications.
Responsibilities: Design, analysis, and manufacturing of high-reliability, high-efficiency power converters for spacecraft applications. The selected candidate will perform circuit design, magnetic development, feedback control loop analysis, circuit modeling & simulation, laboratory test and troubleshooting; and production support. Must be familiar with circuit analysis tools and techniques (e.g., PSpice, MathCAD) and have some experience working with electronic instruments (e.g., voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.) in a laboratory environment.
Coursework: Analog circuit design, power electronics/power conversion
System Design Engineers are responsible for design, analysis, development, and test of wide range of RF, Digital, Analog hardware and systems for space and airborne applications.
Responsibilities: Perform circuit/schematic/PCB/unit design and analysis, develop/test/troubleshoot prototype hardware, perform data reduction and analysis, develop and flow down requirements, perform architectural trade studies, implement/verify/integrate/test final designs.
Coursework: Digital/RF/Analog design, communication system theory
Test Engineers are responsible for providing manufacturing test support for a wide range of RF, Digital, Analog hardware and systems for space and airborne applications.
Responsibilities: Support and provide inputs to test set design and development activities, provide guidance in the development of test sequences, requirements, and procedures, thus enabling efficient test-to-cost objectives are met. The test engineering candidate will also provide manufacturability/ testability assessments during design reviews to ensure that efficient/ low cost testing methods are applied. During the production phase, the test engineer will maintain and update the test set, test tooling, test procedures, and software that they will be responsible for. The test engineer will also be expected to support test technicians during test setups and troubleshooting when required.
Coursework: Digital/RF/Analog design
- Candidates must be a new or recent graduate with a PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) discipline
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite)
- Relevant academic project, coursework, or previous internship experience
- Have an overall GPA of 3.7/4.0 or higher
