Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Director 2, Next Generation OPIR Polar Deputy Program Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The Next Generation OPIR Polar (NGP) program represents a unique strategic opportunity as a new start of a sole source franchise program. A phased acquisition approach, payload source selection responsibility, multi-level security environment, and expansion of the Eagle-3 product line add to the complexity on this high visibility program.
The NGP Deputy Program Manager (DPM) will have accountability for down and in program execution, including integrated program performance, staffing, and baseline management of cost, schedule, technical performance and quality.
This role also includes accountability for profitability reporting and investment planning (NCTA and capital).
The DPM will lead program management office business battle rhythm and effectively coordinate and collaborate with functional leadership across NGAS to ensure required staffing, processes and infrastructure are available to efficiently execute the contract.
The position reports directly to the VP and Program Manager.Strong team collaboration, effective communication and exemplar leadership characteristics are essential.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university
At least 10 years of experience in IPT / program management
Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers
Demonstrated ability to lead complex programs comprised of engineering, business, contracts, law, supply chain, production and mission/quality assurance disciplines
Team leadership experience
Knowledge of Air Force customer and missile warning / missile defense business area
Leadership experience with new start activities and effective change management
IPT / PM experience across all phases of program lifecycle
Excellent conflict management and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions
