Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented individual to lead a team of cross-discipline specialist engineers located in San Diego, CA with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer.
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
This individual will manage all aspects of NGAS' advanced development programs and new business pursuits in the emerging Multi-Domain Command and Control. Key efforts include the Air Force's Common Mission Control Center and Advanced Battle Management System programs, and NGAS' Advanced Mission Management and Control Systems technology development program. The Director will take on the crucial task of integrating four discrete battle management/command and control (Battle Management Command and Control) subdomains into a cohesive business area fueled by a common internal technology development program.
These subdomains include: 1) persistent surveillance-attack Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) in non-permissive airspace ; 2) ground moving target indicator-based BMC2 in all airspace environments; 3) air moving target indicator-based BMC2 in all airspace environments; and 4) tactical space BMC2. This is an extraordinarily challenging position defined by complexity on all fronts strategic, technical, operational, management and customer and by the overarching objective of establishing a fundamentally new business area in a rapidly changing military domain.
- Bachelor's Degree in a S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) Field from an accredited university.
- Minimum 9 years of engineering and/or project management experience.
- Active DoD Top Secret level clearance required and ability to obtain Special Access Program Clearances.
- Master's Degree
- Military Command and Control Experience
- Top Secret/SAP/SCI level clearance
