Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Director 1, Program Execution Airworthiness to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

In this role, the selected candidate:

  • Manages critical design and customer sell-off products that are required for program milestone payments across all unmanned and Manned Aircraft in excess of $100M per year.
  • Represents NGAS (cross-sector) for all program AW execution activity into customers that have positions of directors or VPs
  • As delegated by Director, OIAW, is the Flight Authority over all Program Phases
  • Verifies that all programs with airborne platforms adhere to the appropriate or negotiated guidance and/or standards in the development, production, test and sustainment of products on behalf of the customer
  • Makes recommendations as to the airworthiness of the aircraft
  • Responsible for developing Ccom for internal airworthiness execution at NGAS
  • Company identified agent who regularly interacts with the Customer (DOD and International) at 1-2 star level related to AW issues
  • USAF Airworthiness Defense Industry Advisor Group (ADIAG) Board Member (NGC representative) with peers at VP and Directors, having direct input into USAF Airworthiness policy decisions
  • Interfaces and supports Program Managers and Chief Engineer with respect to airworthiness compliance
  • Enhances Program performance through continuous Improvement and cost competitiveness
  • Chairs the CEC Airworthiness Working Group
  • Leading or supporting NGMS & NGTS airworthiness efforts as coordinated
  • Regularly engages with VP level and higher on performance trends and issues
  • As delegated by Director, OIAW, Flight Readiness and Executive Board Member with approval for Company
  • Develops and drives process and technical proficiency within the staff and overall organization
  • Accountable for preparing and approving Indirect and NCTA spending
  • Identifies opportunities and drives the business model to meet short and long term strategic objectives
  • Represents NGC toe-to-toe with competitors at conferences, panels, seminars and working groups
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9+ years of airworthiness experience
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in program execution
  • Must have previously held a leadership role responsible for supporting work at the executive level
  • A current DoD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years and the ability to obtain Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Experience leading a team of 50+ individuals
  • Experience leading teams to complete deliverables with cost, schedule, and quality constraints and requirements
  • Aircraft development program experience
  • Public or civil certification experience
  • Experience working with government regulators and airworthiness authorities
  • Significant direct customer interaction
  • Experience in requirements assessment, validation and negotiation
  • Top Secret Clearance
