We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineers to join our team at our Cincinnati, Ohio location. Electronics Engineers work on sensor, communication, and electronic warfare programs solving our customer's most difficult technical challenges. You will design and build low power custom electronics tailored to a variety of applications.

The Cincinnati location (a.k.a. Xetron) is part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector and works with various government organizations designing and building custom hardware and software solutions. We are mission focused pushing the boundaries of possible across land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace. Small program teams provide you opportunities to have significant technical impact, lead teams, and mentor other engineers. Our programs require innovative solutions from Electronics Engineers to design a solution that meets performance, power, and size requirements.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Design and build custom mixed signal electronic hardware (e.g. including DACs, ADCs, FPGAs and microcontrollers).
  • Background in prototyping, troubleshooting, and debugging circuit boards and assemblies including analog and digital electronics.
  • Research advancements in technology to provide cutting-edge solutions.
  • Experience with circuit simulation, worst case circuit analysis
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure program success
  • Provide technical leadership to programs and mentor to other engineers
This position can be filled at the Electronic Engineer or Principal Electronic Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications Electronic Engineer level:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and 0 years of experience
  • Proficient with simulation tools such as Spice, HFSS, and MATLAB
  • Basic knowledge of Digital and Analog circuit design
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance to start
Basic Qualifications Principal Electronic Engineer level:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and 3 years of experience OR PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar and 0 years of experience
  • Proficient with simulation tools such as Spice, HFSS, and MATLAB
  • Basic knowledge of Digital and Analog circuit design
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance to start
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with schematic capture and layout tools (DX Designer, Cadence, Mentor Graphics)
  • Design experience in the Airborne and Space domains
  • Proficient in the setup and use of commercial measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Understanding of communication principals including modulation types, methods to avoid detection and methods to avoid intercept
  • Experience with high-speed bus protocols, e.g. PCIExpress, Gigabit Ethernet, etc.
Salary Range: $77,200 USD - $115,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
