Deployed Avionics Technician Level 2 (Afghanistan)

Northrop Grumman Technical Services is seeking an Aircraft Avionics Technician for our Afghanistan location. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

Installs and troubleshoots avionics systems wiring in aircraft in accordance with technical specifications, engineering
instructions, and FAA regulations
Fabricates, installs and tests installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses
Reads wiring diagrams and blueprints
Advanced knowledge in specialized functions
Wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their
practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered
Operate & maintain avionics systems on 4 x BACN-equipped E-11A deployed aircraft
Analyze equipment operating characteristics to isolate malfunctions in avionics systems, radar, integrated test systems
built-in-test (BIT), multiplexed data bus systems, recording systems, video display systems, flight instrumental, mission
computer systems, inertial navigation systems (INS), primary & secondary flight controls, automatic flight control, engine
instrumentation, fuel management systems, central air data systems, communication & navigation systems & aircraft
indicating systems
Remove, install, check, & repair avionics systems/line replaceable units (LRUs)
Diagnose malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, integrated test systems & other test
Remove, replace & repairs faulty system wiring, electrical connectors, antennas, transmission lines & multi-conductor
Modify avionics systems according to technical publications
Update operational logs, inspection records, aircraft forms & automated maintenance systems
Perform & supervise alignment, calibration & boresight of avionics systems
Upload ground maintenance & operational software
Perform off-equipment maintenance on selected avionics LRUs & maintains peculiar support equipment
Inspect & verify operational status & configuration of avionics systems & software
Record & ensure validity of entries into maintenance data collection & inspection systems
Interpret & recommend corrective action to inspection findings
Execute proper documentation of actions performed in aircraft forms (FAA or Air Force Form 781 series)
Assist other functional team members with any associated aircraft maintenance actions to ensure mission success
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree or equivalent with 2 years of experience. 4 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Current DoD SECRET Clearance with at least one year from expiring
Possession of a US Passport or ability to quickly obtain US Passport
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Business or Regional Jet experience a (Global Express, CRJ,Gulfstream,Challenger, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Altimeter & Transponder repairman certificate
- RVSM qualified
- Honeywell Primus 2000 or Rockwell Collins Avionics experience
- 5+ years Avionics experience
- Bombardier BD-700 Global Express, or USAF E-11A experience
- Special Mission aircraft experience
- DoD aircraft maintenance experience
Obtain a general medical physical to include HIV test and TB-Tine check
