Data Analytics Productization Analyst/Engineer

Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Data Analytics Productization Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in McLean, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers. The Data Analytics Productization Engineer will work with the CSM solution architecture team to identify and evaluate options for transitioning analytic models developed by Data Scientists into a secure and scalable production environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and evaluates data analytics model productization options, with particular emphasis on ensuring the ability to effectively implement the recommended integration strategy.
  • Supports implementation of the integration strategy, working with team members to ensure the implementation supports both system and project needs.
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years' experience in software engineering
  • Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle including analysis, design, implementation, test, integration, and maintenance
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and extensible software architectures using UML design tools
  • Experience developing applications, services, and systems using Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with relational database systems
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience developing Java-based systems/services using test-driven development methodology
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience developing web applications and web services
  • Minimum of 1 year experience developing cloud-native container-based applications/services
  • Experience with application lifecycle tooling, including those related to agile project management, version control, continuous integration, code scanning, automated testing, and issue tracking
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated experience preparing concept papers, briefings, trade studies, proposals, and similar documents
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (final or interim)
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Proficiency with Python, Scala, and R
  • Experience migrating applications to commercial cloud services using IaaS and PaaS
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with IBM Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management
  • Experience with Java frameworks/technologies, including JPA, JTA, JMS, Hibernate, Spring Core, and Spring Boot
  • Experience with SonarQube, Fortify, and CAST
  • Experience with Git and Jenkins
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
  • Experience with DevOps and orchestration tools
  • Experience with data preparation frameworks, such as Informatica, Alteryx, Cloudera, MapR, DataBricks
  • Experience with scalable processing frameworks, such as Cloudera, MapR, DataBricks, Spark, Hadoop, RStudio Server
  • Experience with data ingest and orchestration products, such as Informatica BDM and Apache NiFi
  • Experience with data governance frameworks, such as Collibra Data Governance Data Catalog
  • SAFe 4 certification
