Data Analyst 3/4

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's team supporting the US Postal Service. This is a contract to provide USPS Information Technology with professional, technical and support services to support the application development, database production support, help desk administration, LAN administration and various requirements for distributed technical support throughout the USPS enterprise.

This position will support the US Postal Service Networking teams and management. This position is located in Raleigh, NC and is an on-site position with no telecommute possibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for data and will analyze this data to produce reports and charts for management at both the local and executive level. They are responsible for ensuring requirements around the accuracy, quality, completeness and timeliness of data are captured and understood. You should also have knowledge of networking and network technologies.

Roles and responsibilities include, but not limited.

  • Interpret data and analyze results to provide reports, charts and graphics to be presented to management.
  • Preparing and making presentations, monitoring and maintaining the quality nature of database systems.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems as needed
  • May be assigned to interpret results to recommend new process and other improvements.
  • Assuring the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis.
  • Analyzing data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing written summary of data analyses.
  • Sharing the knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding with other staff.
  • Participating in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis.

This requisition may be filled at a level 3 or level 4

Basic Qualifications:

BQs for a Level 3 are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Marketing, or any related field from an accredited institution and minimum 6 years experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience in Business Administration related activities.
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills

Expert Level Skills with Microsoft Excel.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to think about the large picture. Outstanding organizational skills and dedication to quality and integrity.
  • Knowledge of Networking and Network Concepts.
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance – US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), and must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.
  • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Marketing, or any related field from an accredited institution and minimum 10 years experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience in Business Administration related activities.
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

Ability to combine data from multiple sources when needed for the analysis.
