Cyber Systems Engineer 4-TS/SCI/Poly

Northrop Grumman is looking for an experienced Agile Scrum Master/Cyber Systems Engineer 4 with strong Agile Scrum delivery skills, support to division-level customer organization and project facilitation experience to work on a challenging program in Fairfax, VA.

The candidate will lead SAFe/Agile process ensuring predictable delivery of release. The selected candidate will be required to have a strong technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components built within SAFe/Agile. Candidate works with SAFe/Agile practices, and experience delivering deployable software in short sprints/on-demand. The candidate should have excellent oral and written skills, as he/she will interface with the customer regularly.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Communicating status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitating Scrum events (i.e., grooming, stand-ups, retrospective, etc.)
  • Acting as Scrum Master for one or more scrum teams with focus on guiding teams toward improving the way they work, facilitating sprint planning, retrospective and demos
  • Assisting the product owner with management of product backlog
  • Removing obstacles to enhance project team efficiency and effectiveness, including reaching out to larger organizational network for impediment removal; ensuring cross-team coordination
  • Coordinating, participating, and supporting project meetings and reviews (formal/informal) including creating and reviewing briefing packages
  • Identifying programmatic risks within project/program and across programs
  • Researching and coordinating responses to corporate inquiries and managing the resolution of inter-program problems
  • Ensuring coordination and information flow occur between projects and organization managers
  • Maintaining relevant metrics that help the team assess progress and velocity
  • Developer and stakeholder liaison; foster communication across engineering disciplines
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing is assigned to scrum initiatives
  • Scheduling and allocating work, providing advice and guidance, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and financial objectives.
  • Developing new and refining existing process to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Ensuring coordination and information flow occur between projects and organization managers
  • Supporting customer project managers in creating, drafting and /or reviewing project documentation and plans, identifying inconsistencies
  • Ensure deliverables meet all relevant quality and security standards
  • Generating/reviewing formal review documentation and program briefs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related STEM degree field and a minimum of 9 years' related experience. Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience leading an Agile Scrum team at a fast-paced environment
  • Technical experience with increasing levels of responsibility providing technical oversight, stakeholder management and participation, problem resolution
  • Two (2) years of execution per iterative/agile development per Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AgileCraft, Jira/Green hopper, Subversion, and/or GIT
  • Experience developing, updating, and maintaining Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation
  • SMC, AP, or SP certification
