Cyber Systems Engineer 4

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer 4. This position is located in Fairfax, Va. Must be customer service oriented, have strong team and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task, when required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a mandatory requirement. Ideal candidate will have the ability to perform and complete tasks with minimal or no supervision. The System Engineer must be aware of all activities associated with the design, configuration, qualification, certification, security features, operation, and requirements of the product/project. He/she will support a large complex AWS environment and its interaction with the Azure environment for Office 365.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Have fundamental knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, network technologies, system development life-cycles and methodologies, and insight into information technology infrastructure management/monitoring and applications;
  • Understand how their tasks fit within the overall program operational objectives and perform their work accordingly, have strong verbal/written communication skills, the ability to work well within a team environment, and strong analytical capabilities with the interest in applying troubleshooting skills and techniques to solve problems.
  • Apply technical skills in managing Windows and Office 365 environments, supporting engineers and customers that are remote or on site
  • Build out AWS and Azure environments
  • Operate in Development, Integration, Test and Production environments within AWS cloud
  • Develop and document technical standard operating processes and procedures as needed
  • Participate in team reviews of technical requirements, design and implementation plans prior to deployment
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration
  • Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field and a minimum of 9 years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must have a minimum of an active Secret Clearance
  • Experience in preparing and/or reviewing technical and programmatic documentation
  • Experience maintaining, upgrading, and analyzing Windows systems
  • Experience translating technical concepts and program information to others
  • Solid understanding of planning, design, and implementation necessary to support a large enterprise system.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in technical planning and system integration workflows and methods
  • Experience in preparing and/or reviewing technical and programmatic documentation
  • Experience maintaining, upgrading, and analyzing Windows systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Office 365
  • Experience translating technical concepts and program information to others
  • Solid understanding of planning, design, and implementation necessary to support a large enterprise system.
