Cyber Systems Engineer 2/3

Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Tinker AFB, OK. The qualified applicant will become part of a Northrop Grumman team of professionals who are actively supporting computer operations for an avionics test and development laboratory.

You will work in classified operations supporting a large variety of computing systems, requiring a wide range of solutions to solve technical problems in support of Department of Defense programs. The successful candidate will ensure optimal operation of systems, ensure updates are applied in a timely manner, and work with other computer engineering and software development teams to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Systems administration of multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Unix; to include installation, configuration, and audit analysis.
  • Recommending appropriate actions to improve performance, monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum user performance and load balancing
  • Analyze, install, and test enterprise-wide systems for both new and existing systems.
  • Perform system audits and apply hardening configurations in conformance with JSIG v4
  • Develop requirements, workflow and systems analysis in order to meet customer's functional specifications.
  • Utilizing systems analysis techniques to determine root cause analysis of systems failures or to correct deficiencies in operations
  • Independently determine appropriate course of action to provide, improve or restore systems' functionality, and recommend/request procurement of hardware and/or software solutions when necessary
  • Correct errors, prepare operating instructions and analyze system capabilities.
  • Design prototypical systems based on customer and lab requirements

Basic Qualifications:

This position can be filled as a level 2 or level 3 based on the following qualifications.

Basic Qualifications Cyber Systems Engineer Level 2:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of computer support experience in an enterprise environment with Bachelor's or 0 years with Master's.
  • One or more years advanced experience with Windows system and server administration, configuration, and optimization
  • CompTIA Security CE or CISSP certified to meet DoD 8570 requirements
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance; if inactive, the last investigation must be within the past 5 years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain additional program clearances.

Basic Qualifications Cyber Systems Engineer Level 3:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of computer support experience in an enterprise environment or 3 years with Master's.
  • 3 years advanced experience with Windows system and server administration, configuration, and optimization
  • CompTIA Security or CISSP certified to meet DoD 8570 requirements
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance; if inactive, the last investigation must be within the past 5 years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain additional program clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 years of experience with Linux system and server administration
  • Windows and Red Hat Linux certifications
  • Knowledge and experience with RMF/JSIG and DoD STIGs
  • Expertise with networking concepts and experience with setting up and troubleshooting Extreme and Cisco networking equipment
