Cyber Systems Administrator 2 / 3

Northrop Grumman Information System is seeking a qualified Cyber System Administrator for a fast-paced, growing, dynamic program supporting Air Forces customers and other government programs. This position reports to the Department IT Manager and is responsible for System Administration, Cybersecurity, and networking support. Candidates must be driven, motivated, and hungry to learn and grow.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform updates and patching of computer system
  • Configure, administer and maintain computer systems (Such as: Windows 7, Windows 10, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Active Directory, Redhat Enterprise Linux)
  • Configure, administer, and maintain patch deployment and management system
  • Provide patch management status reporting to management
  • Configure, monitor, maintain, and administer computer backup and recovery solution
  • Provide backup and recovery status reporting to management
  • Make recommendations for solutions to technical problems (e.g. product selection recommendations)
  • Maintain and operate virtual environments for servers and workstations
  • Write standard operating procedure documentation and develop system cold-start documentation

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a Level 2 or a Level 3

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience (1 year experience with Masters), or Associates degree and 5 years related experience; 7 years of related experience may be substituted for degree requirement
  • Must be able to obtain DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher within two (2) months of starting (GSEC, GICSP, SCCP, Security CE or CCNA-Security) (reference: http://iase.disa.mil/iawip/Pages/iabaseline.aspx for list of qualified certifications).

o NOTE: Education assistance may be available to assist in completion of certification once employment starts.

  • Must be a US citizen and obtain an interim secret security clearance within 6 months of starting
  • Experience Administering and maintaining Active Directory environments and group policy
  • Experience with Administering and maintaining a Windows environment (Desktop and Server operating systems)
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal direct supervision

Preferred Qualifications for Level 2 & 3:

  • Previous experience in a modeling and simulation environment
  • Rudimentary knowledge of networking (e.g. IP routing, switching, OSI layers)
  • Experience with Administering and maintaining Linux operating systems (ESX, RedHat, CentOS)
  • Prior administration of virtualization environments using technologies such as Hyper-V, ESX, storage provisioning and networking of virtual systems
  • Previous experience in administration of secure configuration managed systems
  • Previous experience with patch management solutions (e.g. Solarwinds Patch manager, Windows Server Update Services, System Center Configuration Manager)
  • Vendor Certifications in Operating Systems or Major applications
