Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Engineer to support a large Software Development Facility (SDF) with working knowledge of Linux, Solaris, and Windows system administration. Conduct system assessments according to the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) standards, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) standards and Risk Management Framework (RMF). Develop, maintain and enforce Information Systems Security Plans (ISSP) in compliance with company Cyber Security requirements. Maintain applicable documentation including hardware baselines, software baselines, network diagrams, operational processes, audit records, etc. Interface with system users to ensure reliable functioning of supported business operations. Coordinate hardware and software installation and upgrades. Coordinate problem investigation and resolution with applicable service organizations. Develop scripts to monitor lab infrastructure usage, performance, integrity and backups. Participate in applicable change management boards. Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems (Solaris, Linux, Windows, Netapps, VMware) including coordination with network administrators (CISCO, VOIP) and computer security (NIST, STIGs, RMF).

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with at least 2 years related experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Current DoD Secret security clearance a must
  • Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain Security+ certification required
  • Familiarity with information assurance cyber security strategies and mechanisms
  • Knowledgeable of cyber security requirements and systems administration
  • Experience with programming/scripting
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment
  • Proven problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and adjust direction when needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience performing computer systems administration and troubleshooting in a multi-platform environment with Netapps, Solaris, Linux, VMware, and Windows Servers/Operating Systems
  • Cyber Security Experience with NIST, STIGs, and RMF
  • Familiarity with IP based network with CISCO switches, Network Appliances, and cloud technology concepts
